RILS Final Project

This assignment needed to be scaled down.  My focus had become to large and vague. I decided to narrow it done to motivating students to participate in PE class.  This is now becoming a struggle for boys.  Who would have ever thought.  My coworkers and I got together and decided to let them have more say in their grade.  They would now have to score themselves!  Wow!  They jumped right in, took the skill sheets we gave them and went to their stations.  For the most part everyone stayed where they were supposed to and we were able to monitor the class by going from station to station and giving help where needed.  It helped that we had some club soccer players in class and we empowered them to help those students who were less gifted with their feet.  For the video I used Jing which can be found at http://www.techsmith.com/jing.
The other Web2.0 tool that was used was http://www.rubistar.4teachers.org.  This allowed us to make a generic rubric that can be used for all PE classes.  Overall it was nice to see the students taking responsibility for their class and during the class I was able to interview some for critiques and suggestions.
The link below will take you to my video.  It is short and sweet!
